Resumption of boating activities: health measures

ON FRIDAY, MAY 29, BATORAMA IS REOPENING AND ONCE AGAIN OFFERING TOURS OF STRASBOURG BY BOAT. WE ARE OVERJOYED TO BE RECEIVING GUESTS AFTER TWO AND A HALF MONTHS OF CONFINEMENT. WE HAVE PUT STRICT MEASURES IN PLACE SO THAT OUR GUESTS MAY FULLY ENJOY OUR ACTIVITIES.

The entire Batorama team is pleased to be able to welcome guests aboard its boats or at its store at Place de la Cathédrale. The long wait has finally ended, and we can go back to what we’ve been doing for over 70 years: showcasing the beauty and wealth of Strasbourg’s heritage.

To ensure that our reopening goes as smoothly as possible, we have developed a strict protocol to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and protect the health of our customers and employees. This protocol has been developed in collaboration with a specialized company with expertise in this kind of sanitary procedure. A "Batorama Care*" charter has been put in place which will serve as our guide for receiving the public. It goes without saying, however, that this protocol can only be fully effective if we all comply and practice the barrier gestures: everyone 11 and up must put on a mask before joining the boarding queue and practice physical distancing.

We have had to change how we operate, both aboard our boats and in our store. Generally speaking, we have tried to ensure that customers will not cross paths. More specifically, the main measures we have implemented are as follows:

  • Sales of tickets for Strasbourg tours: please buy online if possible. If not, the store opening hours remain the same. A pathway has been marked off inside the store, with a pedal-operated hand sanitizer dispenser at the entrance. One checkout will be open, or two during busy periods. We sell surgical masks at cost price: €0.92 incl. tax.
  • Boarding the boats: only two of the three pontoons (B and C) will be open for boarding. A dedicated pathway leads to each one.
  • Aboard the boats: all passengers 6 years or older must wear a mask. Only every second seat may be used (children under 11 may sit next to their parent(s)). We provide individual earpieces instead of the usual audio headsets. They may be kept or thrown out after use. Use your own earpieces if possible. Our crews are equipped with masks and gloves. The toilets aboard the boats are closed.
  • Our boats: they are cleaned between tours and disinfected in the morning and at the midday break.

We have put measures in place to ensure that your trip on our boats, for an original tour of Strasbourg, takes place in strict compliance with the health measures established by the public authorities. And to ensure that you can relax and enjoy your exploration of our beautiful city!
